London Workplace Cycle Challenge 2007

cc.jpgTransport for London(TfL) is organising the London Workplace Cycle Challenge 2007 from 6-29 July to encourage more people to cycle to work and to tie in with the Tour de France starting in London. The challenge involves work teams under a nominated ‘Directeur Sportif’ recording how much they individually and collectively cycle, how far, the number of riders and the number of new people that get to start cycling, all going towards three challenges based on the coloured jerseys worn by leaders in the Tour de France, yellow, green and white.

To join the challenge participants need to register online by Friday 29 June to get their Participants Pack which includes a CD Rom, Tour de France pens, posters and leaflets, a Bike Week leaflet and Organisers Guide, a Workplace Cycle Parking Guide and a puncture repair kit. They should nominate the Directeur Sportif and a deputy, and their team will be entered into a Prize Draw to win VIP tickets to the race village prior to Stage 1 of the Tour de France and get to meet the Tour riders, they’ll also receive limited edition t-shirts.

If you want to get yourself and your work colleagues fitter this is a good way to encourage people especially when the Tour de France publicity gets cranked up next week.
