Looking forward to catching the new movie Fever Pitch. Its the second movie based on Nick Hornby’s book about his life as an Arsenal fan.

The first film came out in 1997 starring Colin Firth, this latest one has transferred the story to Boston and the main character is a Red Sox fan. Its made by the Farrelly brothers whose movies I love so I’m expecting a fun film.

Just saw “Fever Pitch” last night and it was pretty cute. I don’t know if that’s what a guy going to see a sports movie wants to hear, but it’s true! :) I hope you like it.

I guess ‘cute’ means he doesn’t kill his girlfriend like he did in the first one.

Good to see that one of the most popular tv shows over here recently, The Office, is going to be shown in the US. Its a spoof documentry on the on the happenings in an office of a company of stationery suppliers in the town of Slough, and centres on the manager David Brent, played by Ricky Gervais, who sees himself as the ultimate manager, team builder and leader, while the staff just think he’s a twat.

It definitely strikes a chord with anybody who’s done the nine to five office work scene in Britain, and I think people elsewhere will pick up on a lot of the characters in it.

You can send pictures of anybody you know who looks like David Brent to the shows website, I’ve sent mine.

Holy Cow! I used to work in a village about 5 minutes from Slough so I was down there a few times a week. Hilarious! That place is a shithole and now it’s all cool for being a shithole. I can’t wait to see the show. I’ve been clicking around on the BBC site looking at all the photos from the set and around town recognizing all the places.

I saw this show for the first time at Christmas and it is very funny. I used to work in the civil service and The Office represents many of the tight assed little morons that dwell in the office type culture.

Ricky Gervais is excellent as the local boy boss who sees grandure…..but who really is a twat.

The format of this show is a pseudo documentary, something like ‘This is Spinal Tap’, where you first think you’re watching a documentary then realise its contrived.

Anyone see Ricky Gervais compete in that boxing match over Christmas? Hilarious. He and another actor ( neither of them boxers trained for a month and then fought a 3 rounder licve on tv. Credit to him for doing
it.

Aaahhhh this is a show I miss dearly here in London giving me endless ideas of how to torture the people in the office I work in, as well as helping m to have a good laugh at the fact that English offices are excatly like the one portrayed in ‘the office’! Enjoy the show!
