Most of us take television for granted and its effects on us are open to a wide range of conclusions. For the majority of people tv has always been there, and must have made us all a little bit media savvy in some way.
This Guardian article tells how its affected the people of Bhutan, who until 1999 didn’t have television, then suddenly had access to 46 cable stations.
Don’t know whether you find this depressing or not, but you’ll probably not be surprised.
