Pete McCarthy

I was surprised and saddened today to read about the death at 51 of Pete McCarthy, the author of the brillant McCarthy’s Bar and the equally good Road to McCarthy, from cancer.

Pete McCarthy was a very familiar face on British tv over the last ten years but the two books he wrote , especially the first one show what a talented individual he was.
Travel writing has lost an engaging and funny writer.
