Visitors to Britain who are planning on renting a car and driving during their visit may want to reconsider their options as the price of petrol has skyrocketed 20% in the last year as highlighted in a story in the Daily Mail.
The average price of a gallon of petrol in the UK is now £4.80 (US$9.65) while a gallon of diesel costs a staggering £5.30. People on a trip here for the first time may be caught out by petrol being sold at the pumps by the litre where the cost is around £1.06 at the moment, but trust me, when you drive around for a while it will soon become obvious that the £20-£30 you throw into your tank doesn’t last very long at all.
They’ll be no help from the government who account for 70% of petrol and diesel prices in tax and who are due to add a further 2p a litre to the price at the end of this month. They’ll justify this by saying that rises are all down to price of a barrel of oil or high prices are good for the environment. What ever you believe, if driving is part of your trip itinerary, budget in a little extra for fuel stops.

Could you date your articles? especially ones like this one with price sensitive information.
I’ll try to make it more clear Louise but the yellow highlighted line underneath the tags gives the date of the post.
