The motto of the Oxfordshire police is definitely not ‘No Guts, No Glory’.
On sunday the estranged husband of a mother of two broke into her house, shot his wife, her sister and their mother.
Neighbours heard the shots, saw the shooter jump over a fence and run off, and discovered the victims.
The ambulance service says it took 1 hour and 7 minutes for crews to reach the women, not because they were busy or the house was hard to find but because the police had cordoned off the area and wouldn’t let anyone in until they were sure the gunman wasn’t around, even though the neighbours made several calls to say he’d gone.
Not surprisingly two of the women ended up dead, one at the scene and one in hospital.
The papers all showed pictures of the armed police in their black SWAT gear, bulletproof vests, machine guns, waiting behind their cars, but what’s the point if they’re never going to take a chance.

London News
Would you be the first one out of the car with half of a 2 dozen box of Dunkin donuts sitting on the back seat? Not likely.
I know that the cops in Britain go to extraordinary measures to ensure safe handling of their weapons. In some cases when a robbery is reported cops have to g oto the station and sign for their gun and 6 bullets, reporting any time when the gun has been used and even taking time off afterwards. Seems like these guys decided to forgo all the trouble and justwait till things blew over.
I remember back in 1992 in LA when the cops started a riot by beating Rodney King and as the violence spread in certain neighborhoods retreated to the stations and said ‘citizens do your best at protecting yourselves.’ Gee thanks guys, I’ll remember to do that when 4 guys are dragging me and my relatives out of the car.
