Scraping the barrel

Caught my first and hopefully last ten minutes of Channel 4’s new reality tv show, Space Cadets, last night. In it a bunch of twenty something’s think they’ve been taken to a Russian training base for two weeks before launching on a five day orbit of earth.
In fact they’ve flown to an old cold war airbase near Ipswich and their Russian instructors are actors. Could anyone be so dumb to think they’d plucked off the street and sent into space? Unfortunately in Britain there’s an endless supply moron’s who’ll swallow anything a tv producer tells them to get on screen.
