Somebody’s watching you

Saw an item on the news tonight about a New York based website called Gawker.com where people post sightings of celebrities, giving times and location such as ‘just saw Angelina Jolie ploughing through a BigMac Mega Meal in Mcdonalds on Broadway five minutes ago’.

I know a lot of famous people court attention, try to manipulate it and deserve it sometimes when things don’t go their way but this seems a little excessive, having your normal everyday movements posted while you’re going about them.
Seems to me it could turn into a competition to see who can be the biggest stalker out there.

I remember in the late 80’s living in Santa Barbara. One afternoon the radio announcer said “It has been confirmed, Magic Johnson is walking down State Street, just south of Cota St.”

That’s pretty intrusive I reckon. Let the guy go for a walk, you see him 4 nights a week already.
