The homeless charity Crisis is holding its annual Square Mile Run this Thursday, 7 June at 7pm to raise money to help them carry on their work. The 3.5 mile run around the heart of London starts at Paternoster Square just across from the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral through the Temple Bar gate.
The route leads south towards the River Thames, along past the Tower of London, over Tower Bridge, turns west along the south bank past City Hall, London and Southwark bridges to the Millennium Bridge in front of Tate Modern. The run finishes on the north side of the Millennium Bridge.
Advanced entry is closed but you can enter on the day by going to the new entries desk in Paternoster Square which opens from 5.30pm on Thursday. Entry is £15 and you can download and fill in an entry form from the Crisis website to save time. Runners recieve a Crisis t-shirt and water and bananas at the finish. After the run there’s a party with live music back in Paternoster Square.
The weather is predicted to be sunny and a pleasant 22C on Thursday, so if you’re feeling fit and want to help the homeless get down to St Paul’s with your running shoes.
