Still the best

Its rare that really top sportsmen retire at the very top of their game. Lance Armstrong says he’s going to next sunday when he should finish winner of a seventh Tour de France, but after yesterday’s brillant ride in the Pyrenees he’s got to be thinking one more year.

Up and down big climbs in boiling hot weather, teammates long gone, when Armstrong put the hammer down on the final climb all the main contenders couldn’t live with him.
He might be 34 next year but is still the guy to beat and when you look at the other riders their faces show they don’t think they can.
Like Tyson at his best, Armstrong’s still got that fear factor over opponents and if he turned up next year he’d still have it.

Still the best

Forget the Rugby World Cup or the football, Britain has had a clean sweep playing conkers.

Your Johnny Foreigner is ok running with a ball but it takes a lot more skill and hand eye co-ordination to be a conker champion.
