Supersize salads

McDonald’s must be getting desperate, they’re dropping the golden arches logo from ads in the UK.

Now I don’t care how many lettuce leaves they stick in their pictures I’m never going to believe McDonald’s is a salad bar and its all good for me.
I don’t want it to be, when I do go there I want a Big Mac, the large fries and a nice big coke and I’m not under an illusion that its the healthy option.

Only idiots are going to eat the stuff three times a day but once in a while won’t kill you.
I think McDonald’s are wasting their time trying to attract the carrot cake crowd, they should stick to what they know best, making hamburgers.

I couldn’t agree more. I ate 2 double cheeseburgers on Saturday nite and enjoyed them thoroughly. Great burgers and great fries.

Macdonalds have lost the plot. They have a huge uphill struggle to try an change their image. Personally I think it is a loosing battle.

I remember when McDonalds first hit the UK in 1979, they were the biggest thing in town and people flocked there.

They still do good business as the standard of food available in Britain for a reasonable price is poor. However as people travel more, experiment with different foods, learn to cook and enjoy food that is actually good for them McDonalds will fall by the wayside.

They have the imagewith many people of serving unheralthy food and offering short term, ‘going nowhere’ employment.

For lovers of fast food they still serve up the favourites.

Stick to what you know and are good at.

I remember their first ’salad’ TV ads: Their ‘healthy option’ had chunks of chicken and in it, was smothered with mayonaise and to finish it off was covered with grated cheese. Somebody must have explained about ‘healthy options’ and now you can get a ‘healthy meal’ which doesn’t provide enough calories, unless you eat a Mars bar with it! Doh!

Yeah, they should stick to the burgers. All I ever wanted was a side-salad with them!

Sorry, should have read ‘chicken and BACON’ up there.

At Mac Donald’s in America you could always get salads. Maybe they reasoned (rightly) that this didn’t agree with the British palate and now the poor dears are all confused.
