A survey by the Travelocity website in the US has found that despite rising international airfares London is still in the top four destination choices for single people over the upcoming US Labor Day holiday on 3 September.
The other cities in the singles top four where Atlanta, Minneapolis and Detroit (lots of out of state Tigers fans?). Its a shame Labor Day doesn’t coincide with this weekend because London has the Notting Hill Carnival taking over the streets of west London for two days with anything up to a million people coming out to party.
The Labor Day week is also when the schools start again after the summer holidays in England so the major tourist attractions in London might be a little less crowded than they have been. The Dollar is slowly gaining in value against the Pound but is still not great, presently around $1.98/£1, it was recently $2.06/£1.
One thing visitors won’t be coming for at the moment is the weather. London is currently in the mid60sF, grey and drizzly, and is meant to stay that way until the weekend when it might get a bit brighter.
