Time to breakout the hot water bottles

Winter came back this afternoon, it started out as a fresh clear dry day, then late morning a few flakes of snow started to appear. By the time I drove back to Hertford about 3.00pm it had turned into a blizzard with the wind really driving the snow hard into you. Got to be a good two to three inches on the ground at the moment, a two minute walk to Tesco and back and I was covered with snow and pretty wet.
Hertford does look good with a covering of snow though, with lots of old buildings and solid brickwork it really lends itself to the typical Christmas card scene.

When you see signs saying Don’t Feed The Animals its best to take notice, this lady didn’t.Ouch.

Oh my God! I was in Hertford over Christmas and it was a bit chilly but January really kicked the cold weather into gear. Hope the car doesn’t break down any more.

I can imagine Hertford looking lovely covered in snow. For those who haven’t been there its a mini sized place with cobble stone streets in places, many little pubs and cute little streams. Do I sound like a Yank?

Anyway if you’ve got a camera this would be a great time to get into the Hertford postcard business.

The 54-year-old woman left her tour group and scaled a three metre high barrier before putting her fingers through a space in the fence to try to stroke the big cat.

Message: View and respect wild animals as wild.

Reminds me of the story I read about a woman who encouraged her two-year-old to give some food to a bear. The bear promptly took the food and the toddler’s hand!
