Tough in the Big Easy

Amazing to see the tv pictures of New Orleans after the hurricane, almost like parts of the tsunami hit areas. I was there about fifteen years ago and never realised the city was that susceptible to flooding even with the river right there.

Another one of those occasions when if they’d made a movie with this scenario you’d say it couldn’t happen, but it looks like the whole city will be a mess for months.
Hope they get the help they need.

Another couple of cities that are susceptible to flooding are London and Boston.

With New Orleans its amazing how things deteriorated so quickly. It could happen in any disaster. One minute you\’re living in a 21st century economy with the internet, DVD’s ATM’s cell phones. 48 hours later you’re on your roof, the place is a lake, nowhere to shit, nothing to eat and looters taking over. Amazing.
