Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott’s department says that 16-25 year olds from disadvantaged backgrounds need lessons in ‘life skills’ such as how to wake up on time and how to catch the bus or train to work without being late.
If you’re that bad that you can’t be bothered to get up on time maybe you just don’t deserve a job or you need two or three years in the military where they will only be too pleased to come and kick you out of bed at 5am.
Seems like a lot of kids now want a bling bling lifestyle straight off the bat and when they don’t get it don’t want to put in some hard hours.

What is up with the police in this country. Years ago I thought they showed a lot of common sense when dealing with minor issues, now the smaller the problem, the more gungho they are about arresting people.
Case in point this Middlesbrough fan at Sunday’s game with Arsenal.
You can just see the thought process, ‘here’s an easy arrest’, ‘this’ll make the figures look good’.
And waste everybody’ time and cost the taxpayer thousands.
I don’t think Middlesbrough can afford to lose season ticket holders either with the way they’re playing at the moment.

In one of my previous jobs I remember one young guy who did the interview, but didn’t show up for work a few days later. He came in the next day and told me “When I got up I knew there was something I had to do, but I couldn’t remember.”
