Its looking like there’s going to be a war sooner or later in Iraq, probably won’t last very long but you never can tell. What I don’t quite understand is this story of about the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior blockading ports to stop military ships leaving.
Maybe I’m wrong but I thought Greenpeace was supposed to be some kind of environmental protection group, for which they’ve got a lot of public good will and donations, not some CND, left wing, anti-war faction.
The Rainbow Warrior should be out protesting whaling or marine conservation not stopping British soldiers getting the equipment they need to do their job. I didn’t vote for Blair but he’s been elected twice with massive majorities, so if Greenpeace don’t like what he’s doing blockade him not the people who have to put it on the line and go and do the fighting.

Well Greenpeace can protest all they want. But by stopping shipments they are endangering the lives and health of troops.
And it is not the British or American troops that are planning on using nuclear or germ warfare. If they would spend a couple of days in Iraq protesting Saddam I imagine that would straigten them up. It is not “couragous” to protest in a free country.
By the way Greenpeace IS “some CND, left wing, anti-war faction”.
London News
Greenpeace IS “some kind of environmental protection group”– one that opposes nuclear and germ warfare because of it’s harm to the environment. I commend Greenpeace’s guts for sticking up for what they believe in; for acting to stop their opposition as opposed to just talking about it. Greenpeace has used this sort of civil disobedience for years– they are founded on the principle of peaceful intervention at the point where harm is being done. It wouldn’t be their style to go after Blair. There are enough people doing that already…
