Strange story concerning the historian David Irving, who is on trial in Austria for denying the holocaust. I thought all this cartoon nonsense that’s gone on all over Europe was to protect free speech even if some people get offended.
I’ve seen David Irving on tv a few times and think he’s a dick but giving someone ten years in jail for saying what he says is ridiculous.
A lot of Jewish people will understandably be very upset at Irving’s views, but if you start having lists of what can’t be said and what certain groups think offensive, kiss free speech goodbye because that list will be very long.
