Things aren’t improving that much for traveller’s using UK airports right now.
The long delays caused by the new security arrangements are still happening at all airports and over a hundred flights got cancelled from Heathrow today, plus over 20 at Gatwick and 30+ from Stansted. A friend of my Dad’s tried to fly from Stansted to Ireland yesterday and was told to come back and try on Tuesday.
The hand luggage rules still apply but you can now buy things in the departure lounge except if you’re flying to the US. Things are also being slowed down because the US authorities require 32 pieces of information on each passenger flying there. Previously they got this while the plane was airborne now they want it before the aircraft take’s off and the airlines are struggling to get the info in time.
Bring your patience if going to catch a flight this week.
