Where to get your Oyster card

oyster.jpgThe number of places in London where you can buy Oyster cards is going to double in the next year according to the Mayor. The pre-pay cards let you add money or travelcards onto them and you touch in and out on a card reader when using a bus or entering and leaving Underground stations.

To encourage their take up the Mayor and Transport for London have made paying by cash almost twice as expensive for a lot of journeys as it would be by using the Oyster card. A side benefit for the authorities is they have a nice digital record of when and where Oyster card holders travel. If you want to get an Oyster card the TfL website has a search engine where you just enter the postcode for where ever you are in London and it will give you the address of the nearest shops where you can buy a card.

This measurement is really welcome, I find the card helpfull even for travellers. It’s one of the best ways to get around as far as I’m consirned. For other travellers passing by here, I found another blog on London, with some good info as well.

http://www.voiceofacity.com/londen/ It has comments of people who live in and visited London, to get some other oppinions..

Sorry Sam, if you mean travel packs I don’t think TfL do.
