Metro Ski and Snowboard Show On from 18-22 October at the Grand Hall Olympia, this is a show for anyone who’s into winter sports. Featuring dozens of exhibitor’s stands plus special events such as a 20ft quarter pipe where boarders and skiers will be doing tricks,a skills slope, winter sports fashion shows, films and an ice climbing wall. Its on wed-fri 11am-9.30pm, sat 10am-8pm, sun 10am-6pm. Tickets are £10 (£9 advance) weekdays, £14 (£13 advance) weekends. The nearest station is Kensington Olympia for tubes and mainline trains.

50th London Film Festival Running from October 18- November 2 at over 15 venues throughout London the Festival features hundreds of films from all over the world as well as special on stage interviews with the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Tim Burton, Paul Verhoeven and Forest Whitaker. Tickets for showings can be booked on the Festival website.

The Baby Show For anyone who’s soon to have a little bundle of joy delivered, this show is on from 20-22 October at Earl’s Court and is open from 9.30-5.30pm daily. The 11th International Halloween Festival A pagan festival featuring folk and rock concerts, a craft market, free lectures and a clue to really who is the boogie man. Taking place from 21-22 October at Queen Mary’s College, Mile End, London, the festival runs fro 12noon -8pm each day and tickets cost £13 for one day or £20 for two.

The Autumn Festival Hosted by the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew in west London on their 300 acre site, this festival tells you everything you need to know about cultivating and harvesting autumn fruits. An excellant time to go to Kew with all the autumn colours about to appear. Kew is open from 9.30am-5.30pm (3.45pm after October 28) and tickets cost £11.75. Take a Richmond bound District Line train to Kew Gardens station.
